Bangladeshi jailed, fined RM30,000 over immigration offences

PONTIAN: A Bangladeshi national was fined RM30,000 and sentenced to 80 months' jail and two strokes of the rotan by the Pekan Nanas Immigration Sessions Court here after he pleaded guilty to 16 charges under the Immigration Act.

The sentence for the 40-year-old construction worker, Md Mohiuddin Mamun, was meted out by Judge Zahilah Md Yusof.
