KUALA TERENGGANU: As PAS and Umno get on friendlier terms with each other, a PAS supporter has warned the Islamist party to be cautious of the relationship.

Lau Chin Chua of the PAS supporter's wing (DHPP) reminded PAS members of the flaws of Umno and other Barisan Nasional component party leaders during his debate at the 64th PAS Muktamar (Annual General Assembly) here.

“Remember, Umno has fallen because their leaders are not faithful in carrying out duties as administrators of this country. Many of its leaders are involved in corruption.

"Even if we have to be friendly with them, we must remember to never shelter anyone corrupt.

"What is wrong is wrong, and wrongdoers must be punished. We don't have to sympathise with such people," he said.

He went on to say that even if Umno and MIC were their guests at the Muktamar, Lau implied that PAS must not forget the loyalty of supporters like those in the DHPP.

"When you acknowledge the leaders of Umno or MIC here, don't forget to mention DHPP leaders as well.

"We are hardcore (PAS supporters) and we're not certain whether the other side is really with us," Lau said making a reference to the Barisan component parties.

Lau said it did not matter if Barisan members would support PAS or not because the party could already rely on its own strengths.

"PAS managed to increase the number of seats during GE14, retained Kelantan and win back Terengganu.

"We almost got Kedah as well," he said.
