Minimum wage issue giving Kula sleepless nights

Real wages in Japan fell 2.9% in September from a year earlier, and while summer bonus payments grew at the fastest pace in 23 years, it coincided with a slump in consumption, suggesting households were not confident enough to boost spending - AFP Photo.

PUTRAJAYA: Appealing for some time from the public “to sort things out”, the Pakatan Harapan government says the RM50 increase is not meant to belittle workers, especially the B40 group, says Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran.

Pledging that the recent announcement on the matter was not “the end of the journey for minimum wage for Malaysia”, Kulasegaran said the government remained determined to deliver promises made in its election manifesto.
