PETALING JAYA: The National 4pm Finish Day "celebration" is being promoted by energy drink giants Red Bull.

So get your weekend started early by leaving at 4pm Friday (Sept 14).

"We know you work hard. You put the hours in to get the job done.

"That's why on Friday, Sept 14 2018, we want to give you back that extra hour (or more) by finishing early," it said on its website.

"Grab a Red Bull, smash through your work and then get down to more important business, like enjoying the weekend," it added.

Red Bull also said that the move was not for workers to slack, but about being more productive at work.

The website features several experts, including entrepreneur Ross Bailey, productivity guru Judy Goldberg and cognitive neuroscientist Professor Ian Robertson on tips to be more efficient and effective at work.

In conjunction with this celebration, Twitter users are adding the hashtag #4pmfinish, with some asking if their bosses would allow them to leave early.
