Woman loses RM34,101 to foreigner she befriended on FB

KUANTAN (Bernama): A 60-year-old woman paid a heavy price for befriending and trusting an acquaintance on Facebook when she was cheated of RM34,101 last month.

According to Pahang Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Supt Mohd Wazir Mohd Yusof, the victim said she wanted to help a man known as Ying Jimmy, who claimed to be an American, to start a business here.
