SHAH ALAM: She has never been abroad. So, imagine the thrill of winning two return flight tickets to Tokyo.

“I was actually hoping to win the grand prize, which is a Proton Saga. But I am still very happy and grateful to have won the flight tickets to Japan,” said undergraduate Tan Kai Er.

“I have never gone overseas! The farthest I went was Langkawi,” the third prize winner of the #AnakAnakMalaysia lucky draw said.

Tan, 21, planned to take a friend or her sister with the AirAsia tickets.

The grand prize of a Proton Saga 1.3L CVT Executive, sponsored by DRB-Hicom, went to retiree Chin Pin Leong.

His daughter is luckier. Chin, 67, said the car would be presented to her.

“She has been longing to buy one,” said Chin, who came for the walk with his friends from the Malaysian Armed Forces Chinese Veterans Association.

Second prize winner Ho Harn Ni was overjoyed when she received a pair of return flight tickets to Honolulu, also sponsored by AirAsia.

“I was about to leave the event but decided to stay for a while. Then I heard my name called out,” she said excitedly.

The teacher said she would travel to Hawaii with her husband.

“I had not expected to win anything,” she said.

The fourth prize – a Vespa S125 – went to Foo Choon Thiam, 55.

“I owned a motorcycle when I was younger. I have not ridden a bike for some time,” said Foo, who works in the mechanical engineering industry. The scooter was sponsored by Naza Premira Sdn Bhd.
