Selangor MB all geared up for his first walk

SHAH ALAM: Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari is looking forward to taking part in his very first #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk this Sunday at Eco Ardence in Setia Alam.

Calling the walk a well-meaning platform, Amirudin said it would bring Malaysians together, regardless of the diverse cultures, races, religions, languages and dialects.

“I have marked my calendar to attend this meaningful occasion that promotes patriotism. I hope to see a huge turnout of people of all ages at the walk. It is also good to exercise and keep healthy,” he said.

He added that patriotism meant love for the nation and being proud of being Malaysian.

“As a Malaysian, we must do our best in whatever profession we are in to make a positive contribution towards our nation. If we are teachers, we must make that extra effort to guide students in developing their thinking skills.

“Unity, harmony and tolerance have given a chance for Malaysians to achieve their dreams,” he said.

Amirudin reminisced about his schooldays where he used to recite poems during Merdeka celebrations.

“I love to recite patriotic poems. I used to do it for school, district and later at state level while at varsity. Patriotic poems made me understand various aspects of the community and all levels of government,” he said.

Amirudin added that as we commemorate Merdeka and Malaysia Day, we must nurture patriotism and be supportive of the new government.

The #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk is a wonderful opportunity that brings all Malaysians of different ethnicities together to enjoy the weekend in a beautiful parkland area.

Covering 3.8km, the #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk starts at the Eco Ardence Sales Gallery, Persiaran Setia Alam, Setia Alam, Shah Alam.

The #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk is a collaboration between Malaysia’s well-known property developer Eco World Development Group Bhd and Star Media Group.

Other sponsors for the event include Panasonic (Silver Sponsor) and DRB-Hicom (Car Sponsor).

The organisers are expecting a crowd of more than 6,000 people.
