KUALA LUMPUR: News of the imminent return of former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman to Malaysia has been blown out of proportion, said Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.

"That's just viral news. But we believe he will return in the near future," said the Inspector-General of Police when met after officiating an anti-Aedes event at Bukit Aman on Monday (Aug 20).

The IGP, however, did not deny that Musa could return by today.

"Even I can't say yes or no. If I say otherwise and he does return, then I'll be in the wrong. But he will return in the near future," he reiterated.

He added that the police are in touch with Musa.

"We have people that are in contact with him," he added.

Musa, who is believed to be in Britain for medical treatment, is wanted by the police over a criminal intimidation report lodged by Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.
