PETALING JAYA: Will smartphones be exempted from the Sales and Service Tax (SST) regime? That’s the big question as the countdown to the close of the three-month tax holiday nears.

Although smartphones have been proposed under goods exempted from the tax as listed in the Customs Department’s website, officials said a final decision had not been made.
