39-year-old serial molester in Perak Tengah nabbed

IPOH: Police have arrested a serial molester who had outraged the modesty of five women in Perak Tengah.

Perak Tengah OCPD Superintendent Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the 39-year-old suspect was arrested at his home in Kampung Gajah on Aug 12 at about 8.30pm.

Supt Mohamad Zainal the incident came to light following a police report that was lodged by an 18-year-old victim on Aug 6.

"The victim was riding on her motorcycle near Jalan Kelisa 1, Seberang Perak when the suspect, also on a motorcycle, rode up from behind and touched her breast before speeding away.

"From that report, we investigated and found four other victims who were similarly molested," he said in a statement on Monday (Aug 20).

"We found that the man had started terrorising women since July 10," he said, adding that the youngest victim was 17 while the oldest was 43. 

"The man also committed the daring act during the day, between 10.30am and 4.30pm," he added.

Supt Mohamad Zainal said the suspect, who is not married, was investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for outrage of modesty.

"All the investigation papers have been referred to the deputy public prosecutor’s office.

"The suspect is still under remand and will be charged with three counts of at the Ipoh Sessions Court on Tuesday (Aug 21)," he said.
