KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Water Department cannot be restructured easily because due to the high level of corruption there, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal in defending the supplementary budget of over RM164mil for the department.
In his winding-up speech to debate the Supplementary Supply Bill 2018, Shafie said most of the money being applied for will be used to settle overdue bills as well as fund incomplete projects by the department.
