Car bursts into flames after collision with trailer, killing three

KOTA KINABALU: Three people were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in burst into flames following a collision in northern Kudat district.

The trio, whose identities have yet to be ascertained, were travelling along Jalan Hobut when the collision with an 18-tonne trailer occurred at about 8pm Saturday (Aug 11).

Sabah Fire and Safety Department operations chief Khatizah Rahaban said the car burst into flames after the collision, killing the three.

"The trailer driver only sustained minor injuries," she said.

The charred remains of the car victims have been handed over to the police for further action.
