Biker killed during collision with another motorcycle, other rider flees

KUALA LUMPUR: A 33-year-old biker died after his vehicle collided with another motorcycle on Jalan Sentul here, which saw the other rider involved in the accident fleeing the scene.

The victim, Malputra Amirudin from Kampung Cempedak, was heading towards the Sentul market during the 4pm incident on Wednesday (Aug 10).

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said Malputra fell to the ground and sustained a severe head injury.

He added that the other motorcyclist fled the scene.

"The victim was rushed to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.

"He was receiving treatment at the hospital's neurology department but succumbed to his injuries at about 9.45am the next day," he said.

The case has been classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.

ACP Zulkefly urged those with information about the incident to contact the police, adding that no witnesses had come forward yet.
