Sarawak to look at setting marriage age at 18, 16 with consent for girls


KUCHING: Customary laws in Sarawak may be amended to set the marriage age for girls at 18, with 16 as the "absolute minimum" age.

State Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Fatimah Abdullah said this was proposed at a roundtable discussion on child adoption and underage marriage here on Wednesday (Aug 8).
