Impose total ban on child marriage, G25 tells Mais

PETALING JAYA: The G25 group of eminent Malays wants the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) to close any loopholes allowing child marriage.

While commending Mais' decision to raise the legal marrying age for girls from 16 to 18, G25 said it fell short of the recommendations by civil society groups to call for a total ban on child marriage.
