KUALA LUMPUR: Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) is in favour of a comprehensive review of the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC), which should require History and Bahasa Melayu to be must-pass subjects, reported Malaysiakini.

The news portal reported that in a press conference at the DBP headquarters here on Friday (July 27), its board of governors chairman Mohamed Hatta Shaharom said any decision on the university entry-level certificate must take the Article 152(1) of the Federal Constitution into account, along with the National Language Act 1963/1967 and Education Act 1996.
