Lawmakers rapped for reading speeches instead of debating

KANGAR: An independent assemblyman brightened up an otherwise mundane proceedings when he questioned the quality of debates in the august house.

Datuk Ismail Kassim (Ind-Tambun Tulang) took a swipe at fellow lawmakers for reading out prepared speeches when debating the motion of thanks for the Raja of Perlis’ Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail opening address at the assembly on Monday.
