JOHOR BARU: The Government did not rule out the possibility that prices will increase due to the reintroduction of Sales and Service Tax (SST), but assured the rakyat it would not burden them, unlike the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Deputy Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Chong Chieng Jen said that even though SST will affect the price of some items, the cost of living in Malaysia would not be as bad when the previous administration introduced the GST.
