Four directors remanded over graft probes

KOTA KINABALU: A government department director and three company directors have been remanded to facilitate several graft investigations.

Sabah Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission official Mohd Faliq Basirudin said the four comprising a Department of Ports and Harbours Sabah director and three contract company directors were detained on Sunday before getting the remand order on Monday.

“These four are needed to facilitate our probe into some projects, misuse of power and receiving bribery,” he said when met at the magistrate’s court here without elaborating further.

He also did not reveal the graft amount or the exact nature of the cases involved.

Meanwhile, the department director and two company directors have been remanded for four days. The other company director, who is represented by a lawyer, has been remanded for two days.
