Investigations showed that the car had been reportedly stolen earlier in the day.

KUALA LUMPUR: A man suspected of stealing a car died after he crashed the reportedly stolen vehicle.

City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said that that the vehicle had crashed into a bridge support pole on Tuesday (July 17) morning, along Jalan Kuchai Maju.

"The 42-year old victim lost control of the car and crashed into the pole, after going through a stall that was on the side of the road.

"The accident led to the victim sustaining serious head injuries. At around 9.40am, the victim died while undergoing treatment at the hospital," he said when contacted.

However further investigations showed that the car had in fact been stolen.
