PUTRAJAYA: The new Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak is expected to be sworn in at the Palace of Justice here at 2.30pm Thursday.

The new chief judge is replacing Tan Sri Richard Malanjum, who was elevated to Chief Justice on Wednesday (July 11) night.

The new president of the Court of Appeal is also expected to be sworn in at the same ceremony.

The media received the invitation to the ceremony last night.

However, the invitation did not state the names of the new judges.

Malanjum, 65, was sworn in and received his letter of appointment from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V in a ceremony at Istana Negara.

Malanjum, who is former Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak, replaces Tun Md Raus Sharif.
