PWD engineer remanded over RM18,000 graft probe

SEREMBAN: A state Public Works Department engineer has been remanded for four days for allegedly soliciting and accepting bribes totalling RM18,000 from a contractor.

The 42-year-old suspect had allegedly accepted the bribes in stages between January 2012 and May 2013.

The bribes were an inducement to expedite the approval of works during the construction of a hall at SMK Rantau near here.

He was detained at the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission office here at 3.30pm on Tuesday (June 26).
