KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating a drive-by shooting outside a nightclub at Bukit Bintang here.
City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Rusdi Md Isa said the incident occurred at around 10.50pm on Sunday (June 24).
“A witness claimed that he heard shots fired from the direction of the parking lot.
“The suspects believed to be on a motorcycle, fired multiple shots at the night club entrance,” SAC Rusdi said when contacted on Monday (June 25).
He said no one was injured and the suspects immediately fled the scene.
“We found at least 25 bullet casings at the parking lot, which is located about 30m from the entrance of the nightclub,” he said, adding that no arrests have been made so far.
SAC Rusdi said four staff members were standing outside at the time of the incident.
“We have yet to establish a motive for the shooting,” he said, adding that the police were investigating the case under Section 39 of the Arms Act 1960 for discharging arms outside a shooting range.
