SHAH ALAM: Newly appointed Selangor Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari said he would it to Pakatan Harapan leaders to respond to allegations he did not receive endorsement to lead the state.
He said this after Ijok assemblyman Dr Idris Ahmad claimed he had the full support of all four Pakatan component parties to be the Mentri Besar.
Dr Idris said his name was among three put forward for the position, besides Amirudin and Seri Setia assemblyman Prof Dr Shaharuddin Badaruddin.
“I think it’s best that the Pakatan leaders, especially from PKR, provide the clarification,” Amirudin told reporters at the official residence for state executive councillors in Section 7 here on Tuesday (June 19).
He added that people were entitled to their opinions but he was certain with an inclusive administration, everyone could move forward collectively.
“The time has come for us to combine our energy to develop Selangor,” he said.
He added there was no more time to play politics as everyone must unite to deliver Pakatan’s GE14 promises.
Amirudin 38, was sworn in earlier before Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah as Selangor’s 16th Mentri Besar at Istana Alam Shah, on Tuesday.
The Sungai Tua assemblyman was Selangor exco member for Youth Development, Sports, Cultural and Entrepreneurship Development prior to his appointment.
