Awesome bookfest hosts 775 booths

Popular expo: Crowds of people thronging the Popular BookFest Malaysia 2018 at KLCC.

KUALA LUMPUR: Certified “Malaysia’s largest trilingual book exposition” by the Malaysia Book of Records in 2016, Popular BookFest@Malaysia 2018 returns with a ­vengeance at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

The 13th edition of BookFest@Malaysia offers 160,000 sq ft of “Awesome & More​”, with 775 booths hosted by exhibitors, publishers and distributors from across the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the United States, Oceania and Europe.

Geared towards a healthy and educational lifestyle for all Malaysians, Halls 1 to 6 of the KLCC feature English, Malay and Chinese reading materials, as well as stationery, toys and games, among others.

An all-new Digital Pavilion offers some of the latest gadgets and information technology products.

Some of the highlights of the Bookfest include meet-and-greet sessions with local and inter­national authors, an “Unlimited Inspiration” forum (supported by TEDxKL), cook-out session, feng shui talks and movie screenings.

Popular has also teamed up with Sin Chew Daily for the “Hope for Reading” Charity Campaign, with the aim of providing the under­privileged with reading materials.

Visitors can purchase the “Hope for Reading” limited edition bookmarks at RM9.45 per pack and the BookFest Foldable Non-Woven Bag at RM5.65 each.

Proceeds will be channelled to the poor and needy, in the form of quality reads.

Special deals in the form of Popular vouchers and promotional offers as well as Daily Specials will be available throughout the book fair.

Popular members can look forward to special privileges while visitors can join the Win-Win Contest which offers a total of RM10,000 worth of cash prizes.

BookFest@Malaysia is on daily at the KLCC until this Sunday; opening hours are from 10am to 10pm. Daily and season tickets are available.
