SUNGAI BESAR: Politician on-the-run Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos is back with another video, this time proposing PKR leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as Umno president.

The Sungai Besar Umno division chief released a election campaign video for the upcoming party elections via Whatsapp.

In the one minute 44 second video, he stood in front of a big red banner that reads: "I, Jamal Md Yunos, offer myself to contest as Umno Youth Chief".

On the left of the banner are his proposed candidates for various positions, with a photo of Anwar and de facto acting Umno President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, side by side at the top of the banner.

Jamal did not elaborate why Anwar was qualified to occupy the highest position in Umno.

He also proposed Ahmad Zahid as Umno deputy president.

"As for Umno vice-president, it is Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Khairy Jamaluddin and others," he said in the video.

Jamal campaigned for the Umno Youth chief position, one that he had previously announced his intention to contest.

"God willing, if I am elected by the youth delegation I will rebuild the youth so that Umno's youth wing is dignified and continue to be respected for future success," he said. - Sinar Harian
