SEREMBAN: State Parti Amanah Negara chief Zulkefly Mohamad Omar has been named as the Negri Sembilan legislative assembly Speaker, while Sri Tanjung assemblyman M. Ravi will be Deputy Speaker.
Mentri Besar Aminuddin Harun said the two would be sworn in during a special sitting on July 2.
"The exco agreed to this at our meeting today (June 13)," he told reporters after the state exco meeting at Wisma Negri.
Zulkefly contested the Johol state seat in the May 9 polls but lost in a three-cornered fight.
The seat was won by Barisan Nasional's Saiful Yazan Sulaiman with a slim majority of 965 votes.
Ravi, who is serving his third term as state assemblyman, won in a three-cornered fight with a majority of 4,030 votes in Sri Tanjung, previously known as Port Dickson.
