PETALING JAYA: The appointment of Tommy Thomas (pic) as the new Attorney-General (AG) has reaffirmed the supremacy of the Federal Constitution, says MCA.
"His Majesty (Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V) displayed inner steel in safeguarding the tenets of the Federal Constitution, despite coming under pressure from ultras who insisted that the AG must be of a certain race and religion, despite no provisions in the Federal Constitution enshrining this," MCA's Religious Harmony Bureau chairman Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker said in a statement on Tuesday (June 5).
