PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad has defended the large amounts of cash found in the condominiums linked to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, saying it was for the recent polls.

The former Johor Baru MP said that that the election process required cash as transferring money via the bank or cheques presented a challenge in terms of logistics, Malaysiakini reported.
