GONE are the days when we would gleefully line up to receive duit raya from our relatives each year for Hari Raya. While we often fail to notice the value of this tradition then – other than monetary value – little did we know that the green envelope symbolises the charitable act of giving.
So why not start a new tradition of gift giving to our family and friends instead? With Hari Raya fast approaching, it's time for us to celebrate the women in our lives – after all, they say that “women are the backbone of the family”.
