Body of disabled man who fell into Likas water treatment pond found

KOTA KINABALU: The body of a disabled man who was feared drowned after falling into a water treatment plant on Tuesday (May 29) has been found.

The man identified as construction worker Sharif Zul Basil Sharif Banin, 39, was discovered at 7.36am Wednesday (May 30).

His body was found by search and rescuers about 10m from where he was last seen at the Teluk Likas treatment area near here.

The man had been fishing with some friends when he fell into the water storage pond.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operation chief Khatizah Rahaban said Sharif Zul's body has been taken to the hospital for postmortem.
