Indian FA chief offers to step down

Malaysian Indian Football Asso­ciation chairman Datuk T. Mohan has offered to resign should the new Government take over its running, reported Makkal Osai.

The Malaysian Indian Sports Council-­Malaysian Indian Football Association Football Club was form­ed to help Indian youths excel in football.

The association, which received funding from the Socio-Economic Development of Indian Community Unit under the previous administration, has been a success story after breaking into the Malaysian Pre­mier League last year.

It won the FAM League in 2016 and earned promotion to play in the Premier League.

> Two engineers working on a wind turbine in Tamil Nadu, India, were killed when a transformer exploded as they were reconnecting the power cables, Tamil Nesan reported.

The turbine is located on a wind farm in Nellai district. It has been out of order for over two years due to a faulty transformer.

The engineers, Kingston Baldurai, 22, and Muthupandi, 25, were reconnecting the lines after repairs when it exploded.
