Gobind clocks in for duty as Communications and Multimedia Minister

PUTRAJAYA: Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo clocked in at 8.15am Tuesday at his new ministry.

Dressed in a black suit with a red striped tie, the Puchong lawmaker arrived at around 8.10am in his official vehicle before being greeted by the ministry's secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Sharifah Zarah Syed Ahmad and other representatives.

Gobind was taken around the ministry's lobby before being brought to his office on the 37th floor.

He then had a briefing with the top officials in his ministry.

According to Bernama on Monday (May 21), Gobind, 45, said media freedom was his main agenda, which is included in the Pakatan Harapan manifesto.

But he said the matter should be made with reference based on the existing laws. He also said that the Anti-Fake News Act officially gazetted in April will be abolished.
