PETALING JAYA: China’s ambassador to Malaysia Bai Tian and Tun Daim Zainuddin are confident the relations and cooperation between China and Malaysia will achieve significant developments under the new Malaysian Government.

Bai had a meeting with Daim, who is a member in the newly-appointed Council of Eminent Persons, yesterday.

In a statement, Bai said that both China and Malaysia have enjoyed good bilateral relations over the past 44 years since the esta­blishment of diplomatic ties.

“We believe that China and Malaysia enjoy traditional friendship and mutual trust, and their bilateral pragmatic cooperation has solid foundation and bright prospects,” Bai said.
