KUALA LUMPUR: Police investigators in plain clothes arrived in four cars at Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's residence in Taman Duta at around 9.15am on Friday.

The police vehicles were escorted by two police outriders towards the house of the former prime minister at Jalan Langgak Duta here.

It is believed that police have yet to crack open a 20-year-old safe found in the house.

Police are currently trying to drill into the safe as the key had been misplaced.

In the wee hours of Friday morning, police confirmed that they had seized 284 boxes filled with designer handbags, watches, jewellery and cash in various currencies from three luxury condominiums, which value is impossible to estimate due to its sheer volume.

Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Comm Datuk Seri Amar Singh, who led the raids at Pavilion Residences here, said this was part of its investigations into 1MDB.

This follows a police check of six locations linked to Najib here and in Putrajaya, including the Prime Minister's Office, his official residence as well as four other residences.
