Irwan Serigar summoned to appear before Council of Eminent Persons

Council of Eminent Persons meeting with 1MDB chairman Tan Sri Irwan Serigar at Ilham Tower on Wednesday

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Treasury Secretary-General Tan Sri Irwan Serigar (pic) has been summoned to appear before the Council of Eminent Persons.

He was spotted at Menara Ilham at 4.40pm.

It is understood that the meeting with the Council will be in relation to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) as Irwan was a 1MDB chairman.

He was recently transferred to the Public Service Department (PSD) from May 11 till June 13, and has and been barred from carrying out his duties as the Treasury Secretary-General.

Since the establishment of the council, numerous meetings have been conducted including a meeting with government-linked investment companies and fund managers.

Aside from Irwan, others who met with the Council include MyHSR Corp Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Datuk Mohd Nur Ismail Mohamed Kamal and Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd CEO Datuk Seri Darwis Abdul Razak on the High Speed Rail and ECRL projects respectively.
