Sweet surprise: Lasimbang (centre) surprising a patron at an eatery in Kepayan with a carnation.

KOTA KINABALU: Newly minted Kepayan assemblyman Jannie Lasimbang handed out 500 stalks of flowers in conjunction with Mother’s Day.

The carnations and roses were distributed at the Kepayan Rumah Murah as well as its surrounding areas.

Lasimbang said it was important to honour mothers for all the sacrifices they made for their families.

“I wanted to take this opportunity to wish all mothers Happy Mothers Day,” she said.

She also used the occasion to thank voters for supporting her in the 14th General Election.

“I would not be here if it were not for them,” she added.

After distributing flowers, Lasimbang and her supporters took time to pray at the St Thomas church in Kepayan.
