JOHOR BARU: Johor Barisan Nasional says the decision of three Umno assemblymen to join Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia is “morally wrong”.
State Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said their action was unacceptable.
The three are Sedili assemblyman Rasman Ithnain, Rosleli Jahari (Johor Lama) and Alawiyah Taib (Endau).
“The humiliation is not only to their former party but also Pribumi which has accepted them as members,” Khaled, the former Johor MB, said in a statement yesterday.
He said their decision to defect was a defiance to the trust, hopes and hard work put in by the Umno leadership and supporters and constituents who supported them.
Khaled, who failed to retain his Permas state seat and also lost in the contest for the Pasir Gudang parliamentary seat, said Barisan Nasional would act as check and balance in Johor to ensure Pakatan Harapan fulfilled its promises.
“This is one form of service to the people and country,” he said.
Johor Pribumi secretary Datuk Osman Sapian was sworn in as mentri besar on Saturday.
