KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) hailed the appointment of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as Home Minister.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said PDRM congratulates Muhyiddin on his appointment, which was announced by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Saturday (May 12).

“We are committed to carrying out the duties entrusted upon us.

“Our main goal is to ensure the safety and security of the country and its people while upholding the honour of the Home Ministry under his (Muhyiddin) leadership,” he said in a statement on Monday (May 14).

On Saturday, Dr Mahathir named Muhyiddin as Home Minister following a Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting at Menara Yayasan Selangor.

Aside from Muhyiddin, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng was named Finance Minister and Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu was appointed Defence Minister.

The new ministers have yet to be sworn in.
