PETALING JAYA: The Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry has guaranteed that there will no blackouts during polling today.

Its minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili said all the necessary preparations had been made by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to ensure that there would be no power disruptions throughout the election process starting from nomination to polling.

“TNB staff will be on duty throughout the period.

“They have also made available 189 portable generators worth around RM6.1mil for all the polling and counting centres in the country as a back-up,” Dr Ongkili said in a statement.

He added that Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd has taken similar precautions to ensure a smooth election in Sabah.

“A total of 27 generators have also been deployed in the state and in Labuan as back-up.

“Portable and emergency lights are also available at all the polling and counting centres,” he said.

The public is urged to contact TNB or SESB on Facebook or call 15454 for feedback or complaints.
