IPOH: Another controversial video of Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming has surfaced on social media.
The one- minute 53-second video clip that was posted on the "Gerak Perak" Facebook page purportedly shows Nga speaking in a ceramah, saying that Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad does not have long to live.
The DAP leader is heard telling his audience that the party will "use" Dr Mahathir and then "he can go and join the late (former Singapore premier) Lee Kuan Yew play mahjong".
He also sang a line from a classic Chinese song Goodbye My Love for Dr Mahathir's "departure" after the former prime minister had been used.
The Teluk Intan candidate has come under fire from his detractors for the use of racist remarks and profanities at rallies.
Nga allegedly urged the people to help the 93-year-old fulfil his wish to bring down the Barisan Nasional government.
He claimed Lee Kuan Yew, who passed away in 2015, was waiting for him "up there" to play mahjong as he was still missing a player.
"Lee is calling him, asking him when is he coming up.
"But he says he has one more thing to do, which was to bring down the Government," Nga claimed.
"We believe this will be his 'last concert'. Let's help Lou Ma (old horse, in reference to Dr Mahathir)," he added.
Nga is contesting the Teluk Intan parliamentary seat against incumbent Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong, who is also Gerakan president.
He is also standing in the Aulong state seat against Barisan's Soo Kay Peng.
In a statement issued on Sunday (May 6), Nga apologised for the harsh tone and language used in his speech during ceramah.
"I admit that I can be hard and cynical when I speak in Mandarin but this is accepted among the Chinese.
"I will try to use a gentler approach in my coming ceramah," he said.
Nga said the video clip was edited to show him saying things with the intention to hurt the Malays.
"When the clips are edited, it becomes a fake video and it is a dangerous accusation.
"It is regrettable that it has been twisted," he said.
