HAVING travelled to Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor since nomination day, I had the opportunity to meet politicians and listen to campaign speeches. An important issue persistently raised during these meetings is that of the implications of the intra-elite feuding among the leading parties in Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan, and within PAS.
In the cases of Umno and PAS, breakaway parties led by prominent leaders have been formed, while a factional dispute in PKR came to the fore during the nomination of candidates.
