Analysts: Political motives behind veterans’ support

PETALING JAYA: Several political analysts have dubbed the return of former Umno Cabinet ministers Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz, Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim and Tun Daim Zainuddin as a politically motivated move to show support to their former “boss”, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Universiti Sains Malaysia political analyst Prof Dr Sivamurugan Pandian said their support might be motivated by their relationship with Dr Mahathir, as they were once ministers in the former premier’s administration.
