Zambry to contest Lumut parliamentary and Pangkor state seats

IPOH: Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir will contest the Lumut parliamentary seat and defend his Pangkor state seat.

The announcement, which was expected, was made during the unveiling of the state Barisan Nasional line-up for GE14 on Tuesday (April 24).

According to a source close to Dr Zambry, he said it was part of Barisan's strategy to win more seats.

"It is a normal process. There are others from Barisan also contesting two seats," he added.

Perak MCA chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, who is the incumbent Chenderiang state assemblyman, will contest the Tanjung Malim parliamentary seat.

In Johor, Mentri Besar and state Barisan chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin will be contesting the Pasir Gudang parliamentary and the Permas state seats.

Kelantan Barisan chief Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed announced at the state Umno headquarters on Monday (April 23) that he would defend both the Jeli parliamentary seat and Air Lanas state seats.

Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali of PKR and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng of DAP are both MPs and state assemblymen.
