KUALA TERENGGANU: Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman (pic) will defend his Seberang Takir state seat in GE14, quashing rumours that he will be moved to a parliamentary seat.

This was confirmed during the announcement of Terengganu Barisan Nasional GE14 candidates at the Mentri Besar's official residence in Seri Iman here Sunday (April 22).

Notably missing from the line-up is incumbent Hulu Terengganu MP Datuk Seri Jailani Johari, who is Deputy Multimedia and Communications Minister.

Taking Jailani's place is Datuk Rosol Wahid, a former Ajil assemblyman, who was dropped in GE13.

Two former Terengganu mentris besar, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh and Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, will defend their Besut parliamentary seat and Kijal state seat respectively.

Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, who is incumbent Kemaman MP, has also been retained.
