Pregnant woman who fainted on LRT tracks saved thanks to PIES

KUALA LUMPUR: A pregnant woman who fell onto the tracks at the Damai station on Thursday morning was saved thanks to the Platform Intrusion Emergency Stop (PIES) system installed on the platform of LRT stations on the Kelana Jaya line.

Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Khairani Mohamed said during the 7.48am incident, the 26-year-old woman fainted and fell onto the tracks as a train was reaching the platform.
