Judge visits alleged crime scenes

KUALA LUMPUR: High Court judge Justice Azman Abdullah, who is handling the murder case of DPP Datuk Anthony Kevin Morais, surveying three locations around Jalan Dutamas here yesterday.

The three locations include the place where Kevin was abducted while on his way to work on Sept 4, 2015, the day he was reported missing.

He was last seen driving a Proton Perdana with the registration number WA6264Q, leaving his apartment at Menara Duta.

His body was found in a cemented drum in Persiaran Subang Mewah, Subang Jaya, on Sept 16, 2015. — Bernama

Datuk loses RM100,000 in tin mine land scam


KUANTAN: A businessman with the title “Datuk” became RM100,000 poorer after being duped by a man selling a non-existent piece of tin mine land in Chini, Pekan.

Pahang CID chief Supt Mohd Wazir Yusof said the 54-year-old received the offer from the 35-year-old suspect on Dec 25.

“The suspect told him there was a tin mine in Chini up for sale for RM1mil. “The victim was interested and paid RM50,000 with a cheque as deposit on Dec 29, followed by another RM50,000 in cash, believed to be paid through a third party,” he said.

The victim lodged a police report when he failed to get his deposit back. — Bernama
