JB school gets new desks and chairs from Eco World Foundation

JOHOR BARU: Eco World Foundation donated 120 sets of desks and chairs worth RM15,000 to SJK (C) Foon Yew 4 here.

"We believe in investing in the education sector so schools can give better facilities to the children," said foundation chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye.

The facilities at the school, which has more than 1,000 students, are partly funded by the state government as well as its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).

During the handover ceremony at the school hall on Tuesday, Lee told the students not to vandalise school facilities.

"Please take care of the chairs and desks in the school, so more students can use them in the future. The problem is that vandalism is getting higher," he said.

The foundation also helps to pay the school fees of some 3,000 primary and secondary schoolchildren from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Pahang, Johor and Sabah.
