SHAH ALAM: Pakatan Harapan will be announcing the names of its candidates a few days before nomination day on April 28, says Dr Xavier Jayakumar.
The Pakatan election director said the announcement would probably be made on April 25 or 26.
"A big event will be held and we will confirm the location soon,'' Dr Xavier told reporters after attending an event at the state secretariat Monday (April 16).
Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali gave financial allocations to some 200 Chinese and Tamil vernacular schools as well as national type secondary schools at the event.
Dr Xavier added that negotiations were finally concluded about 48 hours ago.
Selangor's Pakatan seat allocations were delayed because there were many overlapping demands from component party members.
Meanwhile, Azmin told reporters that he would leave it up to PKR to decide on where he would be contesting.
"I have received many offers including (to contest in) Pekan and Bagan Datuk, but I will leave it to the party leaders to decide,'' said Azmin.
The Pekan and Bagan Datuk seats are held by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi respectively.
Speculation is rife that Azmin may not contest in the Gombak parliamentary constituency, where he is the incumbent, as his support from the PAS grassroots there has declined.
Gombak has been a PAS stronghold for many years and the Islamist party's unceremonious departure from the former Pakatan Rakyat has irked many grassroots members.
