SETIA ALAM: A host of celebrities and VIPs will be attending the #StandTogether Carnival here to celebrate the success of Malaysia’s inaugural National Kindness Week.

Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah will be the guest of honour, while #StandTogether kindness ambassadors, including actress Lisa Surihani, comedian Harith Iskander and social media star Arwind Kumar, will be joining in the festivities at the Setia City Convention Centre tomorrow.

The family-friendly event will include games, food trucks, a free science exhibition by Petrosains, a blind football demonstration and a self-defence workshop led by mixed martial arts stars Ann Osman and Peter Davis.

National Kindness Week, mooted by The Star’s R.AGE team and property developer SP Setia late last year as part of its #StandTogether campaign, took place in the first week of April.

More than 700 schools across the country registered to take part by organising activities and programmes that fostered kindness.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan, who will also be at the carnival, congratulated The Star and SP Setia for the success of the campaign.

“We have been supporting and working hand-in-hand with other ministries as well as private companies to promote anti-bullying campaigns.

“It will be an ongoing effort for all stakeholders, who will keep working together to ensure its success and sustainability,” said Kamalanathan.
